Facilitators:

Carly Chivers is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Papaya Wellness Retreats co-owner. As a facilitator of groups and individual therapy sessions, she is here to support you as you traverse discomfort and uncertainty. On the other side of our challenges exists a space of possibility. Her support is specialized to walk with you through: Moments of transition, navigating grief and loss, anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, lack of purpose and disconnection.

Carly has a holistic approach, drawing deep inspiration from nature and our capacity for healing and connective experiences through breathwork and somatic experiencing; collectively expanding our understanding of our human experience. She is trained in Gestalt Therapy, Family Systems theory, person-centred Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Transpersonal Psychology and Somatic Work.

Carly believes that we have an infinite capacity to heal our planet through nurturing our authentic connection to self and one another. Through connection, honesty, movement, listening with curiosity, play, compassion and creativity, we can support and bolster each-other to walk our own unique path of growth and evolution. Teaching, sharing her passion, and encouraging you to find what it is that inspires you, is what keeps her fire blazing!

Kris Garner is a lifelong learner, Emotional Literacy Educator, and founder of the Emotional Literacy Movement. She carries with her nearly two decades of experience within the education system and extensive self-study in various areas of psychology including Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing and the creation of trauma-informed systems.

Her offerings are informed by the works of Dr. Brene Brown, Dr. Susan David, Dr. Gabor Mate, Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Stephen Porges, Dr. Doug Tatayrn and Deb Dana. Kris aims to promote a compassionate society through brain-based programming focused on embodiment practices, emotional expression, neurobiology and overall health and wellbeing.

It’s her belief that by becoming an emotionally literate society, we develop the skill sets needed to help us accurately determine our needs, resolve conflict, thrive in our relationships, increase productivity, minimize the impacts of trauma to ourselves and others, and live a more balanced, vibrant life!
