We wrapped up our September Surf Coaching and Yoga Retreat a few weeks ago and it was one for the books. Our retreat week coincided with one of the best weeks of swell for this season! And we had three amazing lady shredders down who were all keen and ready to FROTH OUT! We took a day trip to a secluded left hand point break north up the coastline that only breaks with some swell. The 1.5 hr drive was worth it and we scored long, fast, beautiful waves with no one out.

A lot of our human discomfort arises from a state of disconnection. Our strongest source of disconnect does not live externally. It lives within ourselves.

To be in direct contact with our experience means to be aware and commit to actually FEELING our experience. It is so very simple and also potent beyond measure. It is a commitment to actually be in our experience and FEEL our emotions, discomfort, pain, and grief included. This does not mean we react or are ruled by our emotional experience. It is an internally referenced practice of feeling what arises (like a wave~ surfers!) in our body and staying with that experience. What we chose to do from there is a whole other topic- so stay tuned for a post on dat later!

The cyclical nature of our existence is unavoidable. The waxing and waning of the moon and its pull on the tides, its pull on the waters in our own bodies (especially as women we are rhythmically connected to this moon cycle). 

On the other side of this cyclical nature is another certain bet, change. Everything changes. Our only constant is depending on the certainty of change. Seasons change and with it weather and ocean patterns across the globe. Plants seed, sprout, flower and decompose, returning to the earth to feed new life.
